Someday, all this 2021
This work starts with 400 postcards, assembled into a unified landscape beset by environmental chaos. Each card contributes to the larger picture, and is modified with gouache to show a realistically-rendered fragment of the whole. Huge bungee cords and nautical rope are lashed and hooked onto mountains and dams, crossing a vast central ocean to grip the opposite shore. But the landscape is twisting and tearing as the ropes fail.
Everyone people are on the move, dragging children and bags from one place to... anywhere else. They pitch tents in roadside camps, walk in snaking lines across the wasted landscape, and wait in crowds for a ride across the sea.
But it's too late: things are not greener on the other side of the fence.
